Join our mission: Saving women and children's lives

Domestic violence remains a critical issue in Texas, with recent reports highlighting alarming statistics:

2023 Data: According to the Texas Council on Family Violence, 205 Texans lost their lives due to intimate partner or stalking homicides in 2023. This tragic number includes 179 women and 26 men, among them four LGBTQ+ individuals.

Trend Over the Past Decade: The number of Texas women shot and killed by their intimate partners has nearly doubled since 2013. Firearms were the leading cause of death for Texas domestic violence victims in 2023.

These statistics underscore the urgent need for community support and resources to protect and assist survivors. Supporting local women’s shelters is a vital way to provide safety, counseling, and essential services to those affected by domestic violence. Your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of survivors and help prevent future tragedies.

We are actively working to raise funds to build a shelter in Canyon Lake, TX. Please join us in praying for God’s provision and guidance as we strive to create a safe haven for women and children in need.

Housing

The shelter will provide housing for up to 16 women. Along with housing, the program will offer a range of services, including counseling, clothing, meals, transportation, and educational opportunities.

The main goal for residents will be to secure employment that enables them to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, while also adhering to the program’s curfew.

Residents will share dinner together as a family and participate in evening educational sessions. This structure will help them establish a positive routine, save money, and work on resolving the challenges that led them to seek support through our program.

Counseling

The shelter offers a range of comprehensive programs designed to equip residents with the life skills and educational tools needed to become productive, healthy members of the community.

On-site counseling services include group therapy, parenting classes, assertiveness training, health education, stress management, relapse prevention, Bible readings, arts and crafts, and more. These services are delivered by licensed professionals, volunteers, and staff.

The shelter operates on a small budget, thus, we rely heavily on community help. Contact us to volunteer, or donate at: www.holisticrecoveryalliance.org
